Have You Tried A Cup Of Tea And A Hot Bath?

‘Have You Tried A Cup Of Tea And A Hot Bath?’ is the artist’s second solo exhibition, its name derived from a common question posed to those suffering from a chronic illness/disability/mental health condition by those who are supposed to provide support and care.

The project consists of a number of environmental portraits, each paired with a handwritten statement from its subject. ‘Have You Tried A Cup Of Tea And A Hot Bath?’ seeks to amplify the voices of young adults with invisible disabilities by allowing them to share their experiences and feelings surrounding their conditions in their own words rather than having someone speak for them, providing a unique perspective on the issues and barriers an individual with an invisible disability may face academically, medically, socially and emotionally.

This project was made possible by project funding from The National Lottery through The Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
